Please share this GBV (Gender Based Violence) campaign and help

Jbay Trauma Support Centre to make a change!

It is extremely important to acknowledge that GBV is a major human rights problem in South Africa and worldwide. It is critical that its drivers are understood in order to develop evidence-based interventions and to address it. These interventions need to operate at multiple levels.

When we speak about the GBV system we refer to the following network within the system;

Victim Support Centres, SAPS, Social Services, lawyers and the criminal justice system.

We are launching an initiative to gather information as to where in the GBV legal/legislative/judicial system ‘loopholes’ arise that result in an ineffective system. If you have been subjected to abuse and would like to share your story, please read further.

J-Bay Trauma Support Centre is inviting submissions from all across South Africa. Anyone who has survived GBV, or is currently dealing with GBV, please participate and help to build a system that works.

We would like to hear your story and your experience with the Gender Based Violence System. Please share with us the obstacles you have experienced by completing this Questionnaire:

The J-bay Trauma Support Centre respects your privacy. We undertake not to share or release identifying information to any third party unless we are legally bound to do so. Once your responses to the questions have been recorded, your information will be deleted from our systems.

We cannot stress enough how many women and men are living their daily lives wondering “Am I next to die at the hands of my abuser due to the lack of a functioning system?”

We hear of far too many victims of GBV dying at the hands of their abusers.

We need to act and we need to act NOW!
